Day 1
Enjoy the heart of Athens
We will arrange your transfer from Eleftherios Venizelos airport to your hotel. The first day is at your leisure as we understand you might want to get some rest seeing as you will have had a long journey.
However, if you have arrived at a convenient time you may want to see a bit of Athens even on this first day. You can enjoy a stroll in the city centre, perhaps taking in Syntagma Square and the Greek Parliament. Alternatively, you could visit Plaka and Monastiraki, two of the most beautiful neighbourhoods of the city centre. You will soon realize that both are a sightseeing paradise where historical monuments blend harmoniously with city life.
We can recommend family friendly restaurants in the centre for when you feel peckish – or even book one for you.
Day 2
An insight to the Golden Age of Pericles
After breakfast we will take you to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. The tour is private, specially designed for families, and lasts for 3 hours. Walking time is 40 approximately minutes. Don’t worry that the children will get bored or tired as our guide will keep them interested and entertained.
If you want to take your family visit to the Acropolis to a completely different level, we highly recommend the amazing Acropolis’ 3D app for families. The Acropolis 3D app is actually a virtual time traveling gadget that will make you feel you have become part of the glorious era of the Golden Age of Pericles. With the use of mini iPads, you will be able to zoom in and out, and get a closer view to all the details of the monuments as they used to be in ancient times.
There are some more kid frienly tours that we suggest. Click here to find out our favourite list.
After the tour you can visit the neighbourhood of Psyrri for some seriously delicious Mediterranean food. There are traditional tavernas and some of them have live Greek folklore music. If you want us to book a kid friendly restaurant for you, just let us know.
Day 3
Discovering more of Athens
The day is yours to do as you please. After breakfast why not head off to the Attica Zoo which is the largest zoo in Greece. The zoo has more than 350 animal species including everything from exotic animals to Greek fauna, and the brown bear is the main attraction. Make sure you see the dolphin show which your children will just love.
You can combine this with a visit to the nearby McArthur Glen Mall. It is a shopping paradise for all the family and also has interesting architecture as it is one of the few open-air malls in Europe. Additionally, you’ll find several kid friendly restaurants if you fancy a spot of lunch.

Day 4
Let’s call it a beach day
Athens is not only about history. Of course monuments and culture spring to mind when you think about Athens but it also has another side to it as there are plenty of beaches spread all along the southern and north eastern side of the Attica peninsula.
There are also many kid friendly beaches on the southern part of Attica, not far from the city centre. Yabananaki, Vouliagmeni beach and Asteras Glyfadas are just few of them. All the beaches are sandy with shallow water. Yabanaki and Asteras have a great range of activities for kids ranging from water sports to a bouncy castle at Yabanaki.
Enjoy a family lazy day at the beach where your children can play in the sand and you can have some relaxation time. Treat yourselves to a delicious lunch in one of the tavernas next to the beach. Most of them have delicious fresh fish and other local delicacies that are definitely worth trying.
Day 5
A last stroll in Athens
Enjoy breakfast and if your departure is later in the day then go for a last stroll at Anafiotika in Plaka where you can wander around the cobblestone little alleyways. Sip a lazy coffee under the sun and indulge in some Greek olives, feta and Greek wine. Your only concern will be to be back in time for the transfer to take you back to the airport!
We won’t say ‘goodbye’ but ‘see you again soon’!
