- Summer: Off to the beach
Many people may combine the summer with islands, but Volos is also a popular summer destination. If you do not want to move away from the city, you can try the town beach. If again it is too crowded for your tastes, you can also take a drive towards Pelion and find on your way plenty of stunning beaches with crystal waters, such as Mylopotamos. You can also join one of the small touring boats that carry small groups to hidden beaches that you cannot access by land. If your are staying for long in Volos, definitely put in your program the one day trip to Sporades. 2.Fall: Train ride

- Spring: Walk with the Argonauts
One of the main avenues of Volos which encloses the harbour, took its name from the legendary Argonauts. During springtime, when the weather is warm but not too hot, you can take a stroll by the sea, watch the boats and vessels and enjoy the sun. You will also get a chance to see an impressive imitation of the mythical ship Argo, which was built there as a cultural symbol of the great tradition of Volos in shipping. The area has also an elaborate bike road network, so you can take advantage of it and combine your entertainment with some exercise.
- Winter: Ski for everyone
The Pelion Ski Center is one of the first built in Greece and is easily accessible from Volos by car or bus. With a height of 1500 meters and seven ski runs of different difficulty levels, the ski center promises unforgettable moments of fun for the whole family. If you are a beginner, you can take lessons with a tutor and reward yourself- and of course your kids-with a hot chocolate in the chalet. After all, what could be more relaxing than gazing at the Pagasitikos Gulf and the Aegean Sea from the top of a mountain?
