Hellenic Motor Museum
Found in the heart of Athens, the Hellenic Motor Museum occupies three whole floors of the Athenian Capitol mall. The unique Art Deco design of the building alone is enough to impress anyone, but the collection of 112 rare cars which are inside the building will absolutely sweep the kids off their feet.
The collection includes masterpieces of the automobile industry from both the 19th & 20th centuries and aims to present the evolution of four wheels and the aesthetics developed around them. Many of the exhibits belong to companies that are now defunct, such as Packard–Miller, while other exhibits are of classic models of top of the range companies such as Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Maserati. The exhibits are placed on rotating platforms for better viewing.
The museum offers another kid-friendly highlight – a ‘Formula One’ simulator. It is actually suitable for users of all ages, and all you have to do is pick your track and level of difficulty then you are good top go like a Formula One pro!
Before you decide when to visit it’s worth checking with the museum to know if there are upcoming temporary exhibitions. The museum is always looking to add variety to its collection and broaden your experience of the automobile’s history.
