Starting from Athens

The Temple of Poseidon tour is designed so that you are able to experience the sunset at this remarkable archaeological site. Before that though, there are some fun hours ahead!

After pick-up from Athens, we will take you along the Athens Riviera – the coastline that stretches on to Cape Sounion. Soak up the views, and listen to our guide relate some of the history of Athens, as well as tales from Greek Mythology. They’ll even explain how the Percy Jackson books were influenced by Greek Mythology, along with the differences between some of the versions.

Swimming

Finally, you will arrive at the Temple of Poseidon on the very edge of Cape Sounion. This ancient Greek temple has stood here for thousands of years, and is in an almost magical position with incredible views.

Our guide will take you around the archaeological site, explaining the history of the temple, as well as myths and legends related to the God Poseidon. Your little Percy Jackson fans will love finding out more about Percy’s father, and they should also ask if the temple is part of a ‘Sacred Triangle’. It will make sense later on the tour!
