Mikro Kavouri Beach
Mikro Kavouri Beach is ideal if your children enjoy sand, shallow waters and endless games. You can pay for sunbeds and umbrellas or bring your own. If you get hungry, you can either have a picnic on the beach or go to one of the taverns on the beach or to the restaurant of the hotel. If you feel like being “active”, try wind surfing and the banana rides.
Families should know
- The sand and shallow waters of the beach are ideal for children
- There are no lifeguards so you should always keep an eye on your children
- The restaurant of the hotel is only open for dinner. There is a kiosk nearby in case you want to buy water, juice or a snack
- Prices at the two restaurants located on the beach are a bit expensive. Therefore it is recommended to bring your own food.
- During summer, the beach often gets crowded because it is located next to the centre of Athens where public transport is convenient
- The restaurant of the hotel has tables on the deck during the afternoon, which could be annoying if you are sitting there
- You might not have enough space to put your umbrella up if it gets crowded
Address: St. Nikolaou, 166 71 Vouliagmeni, Athens

The stroll from the Small Kavouri to the Big Kavouri takes around 20 – 40 minutes and is one of the nicest coastal walks of Attica.
We went for a swim at Kavouri during the weekend and we felt like we had been on a long vacation.
TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE…
Kavouri Beach rents beach umbrellas and sunbeds on the beach located in front of the DIVANI Hotel. It is the only spot in the area that has a clean sea with sand, since the rest are dirty and full of seaweed. The umbrellas are small and do not provide enough shade. Its biggest disadvantage, however, is that it does not provide any safety to its customers. The street where the business is located (Akti Street) attracts a large number of thieves and bums who lurk to grab the swimmers’ stuff (I personally became the victim of one of them). The staff of Kavouri Beach is completely irresponsible and indifferent to the safety of its customers; the only thing that is of interest to them is to collect the money for the sunbeds.
So the question that arises is quite simple: Would you take the big risk of losing your belongings (money, documents, etc.) and become embarrassed or would you prefer another organized beach where they respect their customers?
Dear George,
Thank you so much for your message and for sharing your recent experience. It has been a while since we last visited Mikro Kavouri (almost 3 years ago) and I assume that the situation has sadly changed since then because of the economic crisis in Greece. Although our team is trying our best to update the content in our website on a regular basis, it is very challenging to do it for every single article. Therefore, we appreciate your feedback.
Thank you on behalf of the Kids Love Greece team.
