A visit to the Goulandris Museum of Natural History is a great opportunity for children to come into contact with the animal and plant kingdoms and understand the interaction of ecosystems.

Children will be impressed by the life sized exhibits, which even include mammals.

The exhibition at the Gaia Centre aims to provide information about the way our planet works and mankind’s influence on it. Its ultimate goal is to educate visitors about our planet’s resources and improve visitors’ ecological consciousness.

It is highly recommended that you visit the Goulandris Museum of Natural History around Christmas.

Families should know

It goes without saying that it is forbidden to touch the exhibits in the various collections, especially those that are not protected. Expect that children will be excited by the mammals
It is important to know that the ladies in the museum shop, although very polite, are quite strict with young children and do not allow them to touch items on sale, some of which are of great value
Although there are no organised tours for the various exhibits in the Museum of Natural History and the Gaia Centre, all the exhibits have captions in English
During the weekend, the museum entrance is on Levidou 13 Street. During the weekdays, the entrance for the Gaia Centre is on Othonos Street 100.
The museum is quite close to Kifissia station – the last stop of line 1 (Piraeus-Kifissia overground station). In addition, the centre can be reached by the following buses: A7, X14 and 550 (Platanos Square), B9 (stop: ISAP)
